SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMS

Sustainability programs are effective because they produce long term residual results.  Corban Ministries has two programs: Goat Distribution and Planting Fruit/Nut Trees.  These programs are Haitian Run by Project-Manager Fritznel Loresmy.  Please prayerfully consider a contribution to one of these life sustaining programs.

Goats: $125 pair (one male, one female)
Fruit/Nut Tree: $15 each

Goat Distribution

Goats are not customarily used for milk in Haitian culture, but they are used for meat.  Families are given two goats: a male and a female.  They are trained in the care and feeding of goats as well as animal husbandry.  The recipient breeds the goats which then can be used to feed their own family, taken to the market and sold or a combination of both!  This is a great way to give a family a self-sustaining food source and small goat farm business.  Within eighteen months, they are required to give two kids (baby goats), one male and one female, back to the Ministry which helps sustain the program.   The slide-show below shows a few pictures from our Goat Distribution visiting Mission of Hope and a few pictures from our own Goat Distribution spearheaded by Fritznel.

Natacha's Story

In the slide-show you see Natacha being presented with a pair of goats.  We visited Natacha's home in September 2015.  We had been told she accepted Christ approximately three months before, so we visited to "check-in" on her and see how she was doing.  One member of our group asked her how her life had changed since accepting Jesus.  Natacha was disappointed and shared that her life hadn't changed much because she was still suffering.  We explained to her that accepting Jesus doesn't mean all our suffering will instantly go away, and that Scripture tells us we will have suffering in our lives... but if we keep our hope in Jesus, we will have eternal life!  Natacha assured us she would keep the faith. Approximately three months after returning from Haiti, we were able to present a pair of goats to Natacha.   She was very touched that we had remembered her.  Fritznel and Kevin-Lee disciple Natacha, and she recognizes the gift of the goats came from God.  We are grateful to Praise Christian Academy in North Versailles, PA, for donating the blessing of the goats that will change Natacha's life forever.

Planting Fruit/Nut Trees

Fruit/Nut trees are planted around the houses in the Village.  Once mature, they provide and on-going supply of sustenance an nourishment.   Planting trees in Haiti is much more difficult than planting trees in the United States.  Click on the pictures to enlarge them and read captions.
