Housing Restoration Program
We had intended to be involved with Housing Restoration through MOH and hadn't considered developing our own program. We joke that every time we make plans about our lives, "someone upstairs" is laughing. God used Muriel to show us He wanted more from us than we were expecting!
Muriel's Story
Muriel's husband left her and her children while they were in the process of building a home. Since he left, she no longer had a source of income to feed her children, keep them in school or finish the roof on their home. Three months later, the rainy season hit. On top of the stress of not being able to feed her kids and having to pull them out of school, sleeping in the pouring rain was too much for Muriel to bear. She was contemplating suicide, but in a last ditch effort, she contacted Fritznel. He went to MOH for help and they were able to provide a tent. This helped keep the rain off their heads, but did nothing for the inches of water they would have to bail out of their tent and home each day from the monsoon style rains. Fritznel and Kevin-Lee dug into their own pockets to provide rice and beans for the kids, but could not afford to put a roof on Muriel's home. Fritznel asked us to prayerfully consider this housing restoration project. It didn't take long for God to give us the "go" and provide the funding for this roof. Our Housing Restoration Program was born! God also provided funding for the kids to finish this school year, but they will need sponsors for the future. (See Student Sponsorship) Their family is also on the waiting list for Goat Distribution. (See Sustainability Program) The pictures in the slide-show show Muriel's home before, during and after the roof was put on.
"A Home For Nahomi"
In the background of this picture, there is a home made from tarps and sticks. This home is lived in by Nahomie and her four children. We are currently raising funds to build "A Home For Nahomie." Between the land and the home it will cost approximately $15,000. We are a small ministry, but we serve a Really BIG God! If you have it on your heart to contribute to Nahomi's home, please scroll to the bottom and donate to this campaign.
Thank You for your contribution.
